What We Focus On
Climate Resilience & Environmental Stewardship
We support community-led adaptation strategies that strengthen climate resilience and protect ecosystems. This includes climate-smart agriculture, soil restoration, sustainable water management, land rehabilitation, and responsible natural resource governance

Sustainable Livelihoods & Economic Empowerment
Resilience requires economic stability. We focus on strengthening household incomes through market-aligned skills development, support to smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs, women- and youth-led enterprise development, savings mechanisms, and improved market access.

TERRANOVA’s work is organized around four interconnected impact pillars. These pillars represent our strategic focus areas and guide program design, partnerships, and future investments.
Inclusive Education & Safe Learning Environments
Education is a foundation for long-term change. We support efforts to remove barriers to schooling, keep girls in education, strengthen basic literacy and life skills, and promote safe, inclusive learning environments for children and youth.

Nutrition Security & Strengthened Food Systems
We work to improve access to diverse, nutrient-rich diets by linking food production to nutrition outcomes. Our focus includes household and community food production, nutrition education, improved food storage and handling, and better feeding practices for vulnerable groups.

Holistic & Integrated Programming
We design interventions that reinforce one another across sectors, recognizing that vulnerability is multidimensional.

Community-Led & Participatory
We reject top-down development models. Communities co-design interventions from assessment through implementation and monitoring, ensuring ownership and sustainability.
How We Work
Our approach is as important as our focus areas. TERRANOVA is guided by four operational principles:
Inclusive & Gender-Responsive
We apply gender analysis to ensure programs strengthen women’s agency and provide equitable, safe access for girls and marginalized populations.
Partnership & Ecosystem Building
TERRANOVA acts as a catalyst, strengthening existing systems, linking communities to markets and services, and collaborating with government, civil society, and the private sector.
